One Minute Poem for Friday 3 July 2020! Lauren Carter reads “Homestead”

This week’s One Minute Poem is Lauren Carter reading “Homestead” from her new collection, Following Sea (Turnstone Press 2019).

Lauren Carter is the winner of the 2020 John Hirsch Award for Most Promising Manitoba Writer and Margaret Laurence Award for Fiction for her second novel, This Has Nothing To Do With You. Her debut poetry collection, Lichen Bright, was long-listed for the ReLit Award while her first novel, Swarm, was voted onto the CBC Canada Reads long-list. Her poetry and prose has been nominated and long-listed for various awards and anthologized in Best Canadian Stories. Following Sea is Carter’s second collection of poetry. She lives in St. Andrews, Manitoba.  Her poem can be found on our new YouTube channel, as well as all of our social media sites!
